Society Profile
The Chinese Society for Rock Mechanics and Engineering (CSRME) is an academic organization registered by the Ministry of Civil Affairs in accordance with the law and serving scientific and technological workers in the field of rock mechanics and geotechnical engineering across the country. It is the construction unit of the "First-Class Society with Chinese Characteristics" of the China Association for Science and Technology, the sponsor of the "Leading Journal of the China Science and Technology Journals Excellence Action Plan, and New Journals from a High Starting Point". It has been rated as an advanced collective in the National Association for Science and Technology System for consecutive years.

Society Profile
The Chinese Society for Rock Mechanics and Engineering (CSRME) is an academic organization registered by the Ministry of Civil Affairs in accordance with the law and serving scientific and technological workers in the field of rock mechanics and geotechnical engineering across the country. It is the construction unit of the "First-Class Society with Chinese Characteristics" of the China Association for Science and Technology, the sponsor of the "Leading Journal of the China Science and Technology Journals Excellence Action Plan". It has been rated as an advanced collective in the National Association for Science and Technology System for consecutive years.
The society currently has 58 branches, 21 affiliated local societies, 96 organizational members, and more than 210,000 individual members, covering many industries such as water conservancy and hydropower, coal and petroleum, geology and mining, transportation, municipal construction, earthquake prevention and control, environmental protection, national defense engineering, etc.
The society brings together a large number of top scientific and technological innovation leaders, builds a high-end scientific and technological innovation think tank based on 100 academicians, and establishes an all-round talent gathering system. In 2005, the "Science and Technology Award of the Chinese Society for Rock Mechanics and Engineering" was established with direct nomination qualifications for the national award.
The society continues to create world-class academic conferences and journals, building a high-level academic exchange platform. The "CHINA ROCK" annual conference has become an internationally renowned brand. Expert lectures such as "Zongji Chen Lecture", "Jun Sun Lecture", and "Qihu Qian Lecture" promote the spirit of scientists.
CSRME relies on high-end think tanks to provide scientific and technological support for major national projects including plateau railway construction, deep coal mine rock burst prevention, and large-scale hydropower stations such as Three Gorges and Baihetan.
CSRME Charter
Chapter 1: General Provisions
Article 1 The Association is named the Chinese Society for Rock Mechanics and Engineering (CSRME).
Article 2 CSRME is a national, academic, non-profit social organization voluntarily formed by rock mechanics and engineering professionals.
Article 3 The purpose of CSRME is to unite and serve its members and professionals; promote scientific and technological development, dissemination, and application; support talent growth; protect members' rights; and develop an open, service-oriented platform.
Chapter 2: Business Scope
Article 7 The business scope includes academic exchanges, technology development and promotion, science popularization, international cooperation, journal publication, talent development, and consulting services.
Chapter 3: Members
Members include institutional members and individual members (ordinary, student, fellow, and foreign members).
Chapter 4: Organizational Structure
The highest authority is the Member Congress (5-year term). The Board of Directors is the executive body, with a Standing Council for daily operations. The Board of Supervisors oversees financial and operational compliance.
Chapter 5: Supervisory Board
The Supervisory Board is responsible to the Member Congress, supervising financial operations and management of the Association.
